The Growing Manual

In Spring 2014, at Seoul Museum of Art, Neo Futurist Collective was invited to be part of a group exhibition of works curated by John Reardon and Hyemin Son. The Growing Manual works with data from mostly artist-run collectives across the world to create an archive, a limited edition artwork, a temporary growing experiment, a publication. The exhibition featured live plants growing in the gallery space and text to exemplify and illustrate the ethos that each of the collectives embody. Read The Garden Manifesto.

Artistic Director, Joseph Young chose the Japanese Knotweed, an extremely dangerous and virulent plant that can grow through concrete – a potent symbol for disruptive urban regeneration. We submitted a found junk email text as a manifesto of our aims and objectives.

This exhibition follows on from The Growing Manual catalogue published at the end of 2013.
